Kitten Development

Is your kitten developing normally? Is he looking like a real protege or is she dawdling a bit? Do you know what to look for? This article sets out a clear and simple table highlighting the times when you should be seeing changes in your little charges life. The times are not written in stone and use discretion. Obviously if your cat is not weaned walking after 30 days for instance then this maybe a time to get further advice from your vet.

  • Runs Between 4 -5 weeks
Weaning
  • Eats First Solids: 3-4 weeks
  • Fully weaned : 8 weeks
Training
Start Toilet training around 3-4 weeks
Teeth
  • Kitten should have all his milk teeth by 8 weeks
  • Permenant teeth: between 12 and 18 weeks
Learning
  • Washing: 4-5 weeks
  • Play begins: 4-5 weeks
  • Practicing hunting: 6-8 weeks

Vetinary Attention

  • 1st Vaccination: 9 weeks
  • 2nd Vaccination:12 weeks
Spaying(Female)
16 weeks
Neutering(Male)
36 weeks
