January
24th:Louie and Ellie go and stay at the cattery for eight days while Nick and Bren are in Jamaica.
Ellie is warned not to spit.
Louie and Ellie have changed since coming back from the cattery.
They are more clingy with us and spend more time together.
February
We need not put Cardboard out for recycling anymore. Any innocent
cardboard boxes Ellie will eat.
Ellie loves playing with the feather on a stick. So much so that she brings it to you
for further play. She grows more like a dog every day.
Louie has had trouble with his teeth. He has too much tartar for such a young cat and he may have gingivitis.
Vet has advised to feed him on less wet food and more biscuits and monitor the gingivitis.
Also he will need a small operation to clean his teeth.
Louie and Ellie are much more friendly with each other. Often found curled up on the bed together.
Louie and Ellie find snow for the first time!!
March
Louie has successful operation on teeth. Could well be juvenile gingivitis and may pass.
Louie found traveling to the vets very distressing. We were advised to get Feliway Pheromones to spray in the cats carry case before transporting. This appears to relax Louie a great deal.
18th:Somali Cat Show. Louie not entered as too far to travel
21st: Ellie is one year old
April
Ellie 's love for playing with a feather on a stick has become a kind of tyranny. She is training us how to play with her.
Louie has had no further problems with his teeth
MAY
Now that the warmer weather is here Ellie is exploring outside more
Lou and El continue to play at night, chasing each other, thundering up and down the stairs. This is ok, only we have new neighbours next door...
June
Louie made an attempt to escape from the back garden. Because of the warm weather we had the sun umbrella up on the patio table. It never struck us that he could jump from the top of the barbeque to the top of the umbrella on to the top of the conservatory roof. Thanks to our next door neighbours they found him in their next door garden.
Hiding Ellie's feather stick does not work. She gets too upset. We've decided she can have the stick all the time (she guards it with her life!)and we need to be more assertive when she's...well....having a tantrum...
The run has been re-done. It now has a roof to stop the rain getting in and shelves all around. Lou and El love this!
